Quiet 14 cm Premium Fan
The NF-A14 by Noctua is a quiet 140 mm premium fan designed for use as a case fan or on liquid cooling radiators. AAO Frame System
Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated vibration dampers, a stepped inlet design, and inner surface microstructures that enable even better performance-to-noise efficiency.
Flow Acceleration Channels
The NF-A14 impeller features so-called Flow Acceleration Channels on the intake side. By accelerating the airflow in the critical outer regions of the fan blades, intake-side vortex separation is reduced, leading to higher efficiency and lower turbulence-related noise emissions.
Square 140 mm Frame
With its square frame and 140 mm mounting holes (124.5 mm hole spacing), the NF-A14 is an ideal premium upgrade for standard 140 mm case fans. At the same time, it is perfectly suited for use on 140 mm liquid cooling radiators, where the square shape guarantees full coverage of the cooling fins and thus optimal static pressure performance.
PWM IC with SCD
The NF-A14 PWM supports fully automatic speed control via PWM and uses Noctua's specially designed NE-FD1 chip. This PWM IC integrates Noctua's Smooth Commutation Drive (SCD) technology, which minimizes PWM switching noise and makes the fan even quieter at low speeds. The fan is also supplied with a Low Noise Adapter (L.N.A.) that reduces the maximum speed from 1500 to 1200 rpm. This allows you to either run the fan at a constant 1200 rpm or limit the maximum speed in PWM mode.
Comprehensive Connection Options
While the 20 cm short primary cable helps to avoid cable clutter in typical applications, the included 30 cm extension cable provides extra reach for all cases. Both cables are fully sleeved, and a 4-pin Y-cable allows a second PWM fan to be controlled using the same connector.
PWM Connection
This case fan allows speed control via pulse width modulation using a PWM-capable motherboard. This dynamically adjusts the fan speed to the respective operating conditions and avoids unnecessary noise generation.
